May 12th Workshops

May 12th is Fibromyalgia Awareness day. It’s been an incredibly difficult year. Not only have we had the stress of dealing with Fibromyalgia but also the stress of living through a pandemic.

“Transformation, Connection & Resilience” is the first of several online events we’ve organised for you during the month of May.

We’ve put together a day of calm and connection to help soothe and guide you when trying to deal with all these pressures.

10.00 am – 11.30 am Transformation in your Hands

Patricia O’Hanlon is a Shiatsu Practitioner and a member with the Shiatsu Society of Ireland. She currently shares her shiatsu, coaching and teaching skills with individual clients, in workshops and in classes organised by charities and educational training boards throughout Dublin city and suburbs. She encourages you to relax, connect the pieces, see the possibilities and create a life that works effectively for you.

In this workshop she will show you how your handwriting is an intimate portrait of how you see yourself – a graphic representation of collective memories programmed by your subconscious mind from birth onward. Discover how new vital attitudes become a support system to help you reshape your life into one that is free of judgments of both yourself and others – thus releasing your past.

For this workshop you will need a pen and some paper.

12 noon – 1pm  Conscious Connection

Laura Hilliard Brady is a licensed “Heal your life” workshop leader and in the health industry for the last 30 years. Having worked with the ME Trust and The Irish Cancer society she really understands the “issues in the tissues” and how words have power both in our thoughts and what our energy absorbs, how illness, stress and our belief system can manifest and get stuck in the body. After completing a 200-hour Yoga training she completed a foundation Trauma sensitive Yoga and Trauma sensitive mindfulness training. Laura is so passionate about the mind body connection and feels if we work with both we can tap into our own inner Energy resilience.

Laura will spend 20 minutes talking about how trauma can get stuck in the body and what you can do to release it. She will then invite you to take part in a guided seated yoga class. It’s very gentle and all you need is a chair (make sure the chair has no arms) and wear some loose clothing. You can do as little or as much as you want during this session.

2pm – 4pm The art of Resilience

Rachel Lynch is an Artist, Adult Educator and Psychotherapist. She is accredited with IACP and a member of the teaching council of Ireland. Having worked in various community centres for 20 years she understands the importance of building resilience and empowering people to discover their own resources and solutions.  People with Fibromyalgia are extraordinarily creative, which can be seen in the many talented artists, writers and actors who live with the condition. Living with constant pain can wear you down and stop your innate talent and spirit from shining.  Resilience isn’t just about recovering; it also involves the capacity to adjust to change. This workshop will explore who we are, how we got here and what we can do to move forward in a creative and compassionate way. It will also cover some simple exercises to help manage the stress of living in a pandemic.

You will need some colouring markers and some paper for this workshop.

These online workshop will take place via zoom. If you would like to book a place please email info@fibroireland.com
